Jeanie teaches Spanish at OMS, and has also taught English, History and Social Studies. She has been an educator for over 25 years, starting in Baltimore, MD as a high school Spanish, French and Drama teacher.  A native New Yorker, she lived in southern Vermont since 1992. Although she has specialized in foreign language teaching, she has also held various administrative positions, including language coordinator and language training supervisor at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, VT.

Jeanie has traveled extensively and has taught in Puerto Rico, Korea and Mexico. She has also taught English as a Second Language/ American Studies at Northeastern University in Boston. She is committed to helping all students develop confidence in speaking other languages as well as awareness and appreciation for all cultures.

Jeanie now lives in North Walpole, NH with her husband Bill Lockwood, now a published author. In addition to being passionate about language and culture, she is a life-long theater lover, and performs in, produces and directs productions with area community theater groups. She has been involved in many community projects and events over the years, including the restoration of the Bellow Falls Opera House. Her other interests include cooking, gardening, traveling, movies, music, Latin and disco dancing, swimming and the natural beauty of New England!
