Tom Longo

Tom began his career working in the Civil Engineering industry and then moving to Aerospace Engineering as a Design Engineer. He worked for United Technologies, Hamilton Sundstrand on the development designs for the F16, F18, and C130 aircraft programs. He also worked on the NASA space shuttle, space suit and space station programs. He was responsible for conceptual designs to fabrication the NASA Life Support Systems. Promoted to Chief of Design for all NASA and Navy programs. Offered an opportunity to build a domestic aerospace engineering devision for CDI corporation supporting all United Technologies Corporations. As CDI’s VP of Business Development and Operations for UTC accounts, grew the division to 400 engineers and 5 US based office.

During his tenure as Chief of Design at Space Systems, he worked with the State of CT department of Education in bridging the gap between the engineering academics and technology in real life industry. Also worked with the Montana Department of Education, Department of Business Development and the Governors Office to reduce the “Brain Drain” of students from Montana State University. Developed an exit strategy with the President of MSU and engineering opportunities available within the state of Montana.

Served in the US Army for 6 years and honorably discharged

Currently resides in Londonderry VT and beginning his new career in the math department, working with the OMS students eager to learn and grow.
